Letter from Syria on recent bombings by the international coalition

Identical letters dated 11 July 2016 from the Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council

In separate incidents, the aircraft of the so-called international coalition have recently bombarded several locations in Dayr al-Zawr governorate, killing or wounding a number of innocent civilians who had no connection with the terrorist organization Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.

For instance, coalition aircraft bombarded the village of Susah, killing 17 civilians, all of whom were women and children belonging to the same family, that of Ahmad Talyush. The aircraft of the so-called coalition also opened fire on a four-wheel drive vehicle that was located in the garden of the home of engineer Sabbar Rahil al-Mujawwal in the village of Baghuz, killing the engineer and his brothers. The aircraft also bombarded a home in the district of Hajin, killing a child and two women and inflicting injuries of varying gravity on 30 civilians.

Among the civilian victims of the raids carried out by the aircraft of the so-called international coalition, the following have been identified: Kutayyibah Muhammad Zuhayr al-Rawi; Muhammad Kamal Isma'il; Mazin Adil al-Daqr; Sami Mikhlaf al-Nuwaykh; Muhammad Usamah al-Mahidi; Ahmad Ziyad al-Rahil; Shakir Mahmud al-Barghash; Muhammad Mustafa al-Kab'; Muhammad Abdulrahman al-Ahmad; Tariq Thabit al-Hawiyah; Murad Sulayman al-Abdullah; Qahtan Hamad al-Dawud; Ahmad Ibrahim al-Shubut; Ahmad Ibrahim al-Hamdan; Jasim Muhammad al-Kab'; Riyad Kamal al-Uthman; Riyad al-Ghadib; and Abbud Khidr al-Barghuth.
