Red Cross, UN send a humanitarian convoy to militant-held enclave in north Homs
Large convoy consisting of 45 trucks with humanitarian aid sent by Red Cross and the UN, arrived in Talbeesa city in northern Homs countryside on Thursday. About 83,000 people are expected to receive the aid.
This is the second convoy to have entered militant-controlled northern part of Homs province since the beginning of this year.
It comes amid ongoing talks regarding complete reconciliation deal that is expected to be settled in the near future in north Homs.
Syrian government offered local militants in Rastan and Talbeesa amnesty and fulfilment of their demands in exchange for expelling Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS, Syrian Al-Qaeda branch) jihadists from the region and transferring them to north Syria.
Leaders of the local armed groups are yet to respond to the offer as the negotiations are still at their early stage.
