Russian-trained Syrian Army troops advance in east Palmyra
The Russian-trained 5th Legion continued their field operations in the eastern countryside of Palmyra on Saturday, targeting the Islamic State's positions near the Al-Talilah Crossroad.
According to a military source in Homs, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the remaining sites west of the Al-Talilah Crossroad, liberating a number of points after a fierce battle with the Islamic State forces on Saturday.
With the Syrian Arab Army on the verge of seizing the Al-Talilah Croassroad, the Islamic State finds themselves in a difficult positions at both Al-Talilah village and the nearby 'Arak Gas Fields.
The Syrian Arab Army has not been in control of Al-Talilah village and 'Arak Gas Fields since May of 2015, so this new push by the government forces will attempt to change this in the coming weeks.
