Syrian Army liberates strategic village in east Aleppo
Minutes ago, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) imposed full control over the strategic village of Souran after a fierce battle with the Islamic State (ISIS) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army burst through the Islamic State's main line of defense at Souran, forcing the latter to abandon their posts and retreat north towards their main stronghold in the Aleppo Governorate.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army is now attacking the Islamic State's positions at the villages of Sarjah and Maran.
If the Syrian Arab Army is successful in their attempt to capture Sarjah and Maran tonight, then they will be in position to flank the town of 'Aran, which is located directly south of Al-Bab.
Since the Turkish Army has repeatedly failed to capture Al-Bab, the Syrian Arab Army will now take the initiative in the Al-Bab Plateau and liberate this primary Islamic State stronghold.
