Russian jets strike ISIL's oil supply route in central Syria
The Russian Air Force continued their aerial campaign over the Syrian Desert on Saturday, targeting the Islamic State's main oil supply route between the eastern countryside of Homs and Al-Raqqa.
Russian jets began launching airstrikes during the wee hours on Saturday, when the Islamic State's oil supply trucks travel to Al-Raqqa Governorate from the eastern parts of the Homs and Hama governorates.
The Russian Air Force was able to score several direct hits on a small Islamic State oil convoy traveling north of the 'Arak Gas Fields, causing a massive explosion that could be heard from several kilometers away.
Not long after hitting this convoy, the Russian Air Force struck the Islamic State's positions along Sukhanah-Palmyra Road, killing and wounding several terrorists at a local gathering point.
Despite decreasing the size of their force in Syria, Russia will continue to target the Islamic State's positions until they are no longer present inside the country.
