ISIL amasses large force for imminent Deir Ezzor offensive
The Islamic State (ISIL) has reportedly begun to amass a large force inside the Deir Ezzor Governorate in preparation for their upcoming offensive in-and-around the provincial capital.
According to a military source at the Deir Ezzor Airport, ISIS has moved a large number of fighters to this front after their failed offensive at the T-4 Airbase in the eastern countryside of the Homs Governorate.
The military source added that the Islamic State is planning on attacking the Syrian Arab Army's positions at the 137th Artillery Brigade's headquarters, Jabal Thardeh, and the Al-Rashidiyah District in the provincial capital.
In response to this massive mobilization of Islamic State terrorists, the Syrian Air Force has already begun to bomb the Jabal Thardeh area of Deir Ezzor, killing a large number of terrorists near their gathering point last night.
If the Syrian Arab Army can hold their ground, they will be able to launch an effective counter-offensive in conjunction with their future military operations in the Palmyra countryside.
