ISIS terrorists launch another assault on Palmyra capturing several sites
On Sunday morning, the so-called "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) launched another powerful assault on Syrian Arab Army's defensive positions inside the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmor).
Last night Al-Masdar News reported that according to some sources, the SAA managed to recapture Jabal Tar mountain which overlooks the city from the north. This proved to be untrue, otherwise ISIS terrorists would not have been able to launch another attack on northern axis this morning.
According to a military source in Palmyra, the terror group was once again able to capture Al-Amariyah district, its hilltop of the same name and Officers Housing complex. This, along with enemy's control over Palmyra Grain Silos area, makes it quite difficult for the government troops to hold their positions in the city as ISIS now maintains fire control over it.
So far, there are no reports about government troops' retreat from the city. However, considering the situation, it is very likely to happen in the coming hours.
