Syrian Army officially enters Al-Tal in northwest Damascus
One week after the last militant left Al-Tal in rural Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has officially entered this key suburb that was once under jihadist control.
Greeted by hundreds of jubilant civilians, the Syrian Arab Army entered Al-Tal after they reopened the road leading from this large suburb to the Syrian capital.
Al-Tal was the last suburb west of Damascus that was under militant control and one of the biggest roadblocks for the Syrian Arab Army in the area.
Many civilians that fled Al-Tal during the war have been encouraged to return to their homes, as army checkpoints have been placed all around the suburb to ensure the safety of the residents.
