Syrian Army captures village in west Daraa after launching surprise attack
The Syrian Arab Army carried out a surprise offensive in the western countryside of the Dara'a Governorate on Saturday, targeting the rebel-held territory located between the Old Damascus-Daraa Highway.
Led by their 5th and 9th armored divisions, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the rebel defenses inside the town of Al-Faqiya', resulting in a series of intense clashes that lasted for several hours.
According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army captured the town of Faqiya' after seizing its coresponding farms earlier in the day.
The Syrian Armed Forces are now advancing on the nearby villages of Ithriya and Burqa, which are located directly west of Faqiya' and its farms.
