Syrian Air Force destroys a convoy of elite ISIS fighters in Deir Ezzor province
A military source told Al-Masdar News that the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) carried out a special operation in Deir Ezzor countryside last night targeting a large ISIS convoy.
Syrian military intelligence received a report from local spies in Deir Ezzor province about an ISIS convoy moving on Al-Mayadeen - Thayem highway. The convoy consisting of 9 cars and originally coming from Iraq was carrying elite 'inghimasi' fighters of the so-called 'Islamic State' along with their commander, 'Abou Aisha Marsillia' - a French national, according to the report.
The convoy made a stop in an area between Thayem Oil Field and Thardeh Mountain. Not long after that, ISIS terrorists found themselves under heavy bombing as SyAAF fighter jets commenced airstrikes on the area using the exact coordinates obtained from the aforementioned local spies. Several cars with militants inside them were destroyed while the rest managed to evade bombs making their way to a canyon situated to the east from local power station complex.
However, this proved futile at the end of the day as Syrian jets caught up with the escaped ISIS militants and destroyed all the remaining cars killing their passengers in process. According to a source in Syrian military intelligence, the 'inghimasi' commander Abou Aisha Marsillia was eliminated as well.
