Russian, Syrian jets conduct nonstop airstrikes over Hama
The Russian and Syrian air forces did not take a break tonight; instead, they conducted nonstop airstrikes over the northern Hama countryside, as they attempt to forestall the jihadist advance against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
According to an aviation report from the Hama Military Airport, the Syrian and Russian air forces conducted well-over 70 airstrikes last night, targeting the jihadist-held villages of Kawkab, Souran, Ma'an, Karah, Khafseen, Ma'ardes, Al-Talisah, Helfaya, and Taybat Al-Imam.
In addition to the aviation report, a Syrian Arab Army source told Al-Masdar News on Friday morning that last night's air campaign was the most intense attack conducted by the Syrian and Russian air forces since latter joined the war in September 2015.
With the dawn quickly approaching, the Syrian Armed Forces are looking to capitalize on the recent tiff between the jihadist rebel groups in southern Idlib by launching their own assault in northern Hama.
