Jihadist rebels capture Al-Buwaydah in northern Hama
The jihadist rebels of Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda franchise) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) reportedly seized the village of Al-Buwaydah in northern Hama after a short firefight with the Syrian Armed Forces this morning.
Initially, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to recapture and hold Al-Buwaydah for nearly six hours without any resistance from the jihadist rebels; however, as dawn approached on Tuesday morning, the situation quickly took a turn for the worse.
According to a military source in the Hama Governorate, the Syrian Armed Forces retreated from Al-Buwaydah after failing to recapture the checkpoints at the northeastern part of the town.
With the loss of Al-Buwaydah, the Syrian Armed Forces are in serious trouble at the nearby town of Taybat Al-Imam, which is located along the main road to the provincial capital.
