Syrian Air Force drops leaflets demanding rebels surrender Bustan Al-Pasha in Aleppo
Last night, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) dropped several thousand leaflets over the Busta Al-Pasha District in Aleppo City demanding the Islamist rebels surrender the area in the next 4 hours or else they will attack.
The leaflet read that the Islamist rebel fighters must leave the eastern neighborhoods of the aforementioned district, with no preconditions prior to their departure from the area.
Bustan Al-Pasha has long been a contested district that both the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Islamist rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Jabhat Al-Shamiyah (Levantine Front) have fought for since the inception of this armed conflict in the Aleppo Governorate.
Earlier this morning, the predominately Kurdish "People's Protection Units" (YPG) - alongside their allies from Jaysh Al-Thuwwar of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) - carried out a surprise attack on both the Al-Hillak and Bustan Al-Pasha districts.
Social media activists from the Syrian Opposition claim they are still in full control of both Al-Hillak and Bustan Al-Pasha; however, Kurdish activists claim there are still ongoing clashes between the opposing parties in the aforementioned districts.
Whether or not the Syrian Armed Forces will attack Bustan Al-Pasha is now up in the air, as the Kurdish forces seem poised to seize the area from the Islamist rebels.
