US ambassador hopes for cooperation with Russia to fight Islamic State
US Ambassador in Moscow Jonh Tefft hopes to maintain cooperation with Russia in the fight against the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization, the acting chairman of Russia's Federation Council (upper house) Foreign Affairs Committee said on Wednesday.
"I told Mr. Ambassador that even in the most difficult periods of our relations we continued counter-terrorism cooperation within the Foreign Ministry. He said it was right and that was good. He hopes for further cooperation (with Russia) in fighting the terrorist organisation, which is named the Islamic State," Vladimir Dzhabarov said.
