Trilateral meeting between Sergei Lavrov, John Kerry, Ban Ki Moon scheduled for September 27

Trilateral meeting between Ban Ki Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled for Friday night, September 27, said Martin Nesirky, official representative of the Secretary-General.

Previously the UN reported that Ban Ki Moon was planning on meeting foreign policy heads of Russia and the U.S. on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in order to discuss preparations for the so-called Geneva II convention, dedicated to seeking a peaceful resolution of the Syrian crisis.

Last week it was reported that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would meet with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, and the Joint Special Envoy of the United Nations and the League of Arab States for the Syrian Crisis, Lakhdar Brahimi, during the current session of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
