German army ready to ship Patriot system to Turkey
German army completed its preparations to ship Patriot air defense system to Turkey within the scope of Turkey's request from NATO.
German army's air defense missile fleet stated on Friday that general logistic activities to deploy the system to Turkey had been completed, and the Patriots would be sent to German port of Travemunde on Sunday.
The Patriots will be loaded on ships on Tuesday, said that fleet's spokesperson's office, adding that the soldiers, who would operate the Patriots, would leave for Turkey later.
Patriots are expected to be ready for function in February.
Turkey requested Patriots from NATO to boost its air defense capabilities against possible missile threats from Syria.
