Russia, China reach 107 strategic agreements in past two years -- Chinese foreign minister
In the past two years, Russia and China have reached 107 joint strategic agreements, of which 55 have been implemented and more than 30 are being actively realized, China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"According to preliminary data, in the past two years you /the two countries' leaders/ have inked 107 joint agreements, of which 55 have already been implemented and 31 are being actively realized," he said.
The Chinese foreign minister conveyed "the warmest regards from China's president" and other Chinese leaders. "The Chinese president values the high level of trust and friendship between you and is looking forward to visiting Russia and attending celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War Two," Wang Yi said.
In his words, in the past two years the two countries had reached a high level of cooperation and were now entering a "new stage of strategic partnership."
The Chinese top diplomat reminded that this year China was marking an anniversary of victory over "Japanese militarists." Apart from that, the world is making a jubilee of the United Nations Organization. "We have a lot of possibilities to promote the cause of peace. We must do our best to promote peace and stability in the region and in the entire world," he underscored.
