Russian Interior Ministry says Chechen leader's words on "shooting to kill" inadmissible
Russia's Interior Ministry considers Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov's statement on "shooting to kill" at law enforcement officers inadmissible.
"The Russian Interior Ministry believes it inadmissible for the leader of the Chechen Republic to make statements on a possibility of shooting to kill at law enforcers from other regions if they carry out special operations in Chechnya without authorization from the local agencies of law and order," it said.
Earlier this week Kadyrov urged a probe into actions by members of the Stavropol police force and the temporary operative group, which held a joint special operation in the Chechen capital Grozny in an attempt to detain one Dzhambulat Dadayev, who offered resistance and was killed.
Kadyrov said the Stavropol police force and the temporary operative group had no legal reasons for conducting the operation. He described as a crude violation the fact that the Chechen Interior Ministry had not been notified of the operation. Kadyrov ordered detailed investigation of all circumstances of the incident and make a proper legal decision.
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin has no knowledge about the conflict between Stavropol Territory and Chechen police.
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov earlier on Thursday in an interview with LifeNews denied he had a conflict with the federal law enforcement agencies.
