Angara rockets to be launched from Vostochny spaceport starting from 2021 – deputy PM
Angara rockets will begin to be launched from Russia's easternmost spaceport Vostochny in 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said at Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's conference with deputy prime ministers.
"We've scheduled Angara launches for 2021. After 2021 we will be able to move there launches of GLONASS satellites and other spacecraft, including those capable of operation in geostationary orbits," Rogozin said.
Angara is a family of Russia's new generation rockets, which consists of unified light, medium and heavy class rockets capable of putting in any orbits all types of payloads - satellites, spacecraft, inter-planetary space probes and others.
Currently Angara rockets blast off from the northern cosmodrome Plesetsk.
