Rebels ask NATO to stay on in Libya

Libya's National Transitional Council has asked NATO to extend its military operation in Libya for at least another month, France Press reports.

Earlier, NATO said it would decide when to end the "Unified Protector" operation in Libya at a NATO Council meeting on October 26.

Last Friday, the NATO Council passed a preliminary decision to end the Libyan campaign on October 31 and until then to monitor the security situation in the country and react to any threat to its people.
