Nato helicopters engaged in attack on Sirte
Night-time footage shows heavy fighting involving NATO helicopters in Colonel Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte
Nato helicopters struck earlier this week with a series of overnight missile attacks on the birthplace of the deposed leader.
The heavy airstrikes took place on Monday and hit several targets in the town.
Commanders with the National Transitional Council have surrounded Sirte and reduced the defensive perimeter of the remaining Gaddafi loyalists to just a few square kilometres.
Taking Sirte is of huge symbolic importance to Libya's new rulers as it is one of the few areas of the country they do not yet control.
