China urges US to ensure security of diplomatic institutions

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has urged the United States to take "effective measures" to protect its diplomatic institutions and staff, following the arson attack on the Chinese consulate-general.

Spokesman Qin Gang says China demands the US solve the case as soon as possible, severely punish the culprit, and make sure similar incidents do not happen again. He says China will release information in a timely manner on the progress of the case.
