Iraqi forces advance east towards Fallujah
On Monday, the Iraqi Army and popular committees launched a two large-scale offensives inside the Al-'Anbar Governorate, attacking several sites under the control of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in Ramadi's eastern countryside and the Karma-Fallujah part of the province.
The following morning, the Iraqi Army and their allies reportedly seized the small villages of Al-Subhiyah and Al-Kabishat after a violent battle with the ISIS terrorists entrenched at these sites located near the strategic city of Fallujah in western Iraq.
According to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, the Iraqi Army's offensive in eastern Ramadi will focus on Al-Hamidiyah, which is a village that has long been under the control of ISIS.
Ultimately, the offensive in Ramadi's eastern countryside will lead the Iraqi Army to Fallujah's western district, where they will likely launch an offensive in the coming months.
