Responding to a quarry about the failed assassination attempt on Asadullah Khalid, the chief of National Directorate of Security or intelligence agency, the Afghan leader said that the attack was planned in neighboring Pakistan.
"Against all human and Islamic values the bomber placed the explosive in his body and tried to kill our NDS chief," he said, adding "Our intelligence agency chief is receiving medical treatment and recovering from wounds and that he will be back in office in near future,"
The Taliban insurgent group, which has been waging an insurgency of more than one decade, has claimed responsibility for the Thursday's suicide bombing against the Khalid which carried out by a man posing as a messenger of peace in an NDS guesthouse in Kabul.
