Ceremony held in Zhijiang site of Japan's surrender

More commemorations have been held in central China's Zhijiang city, where Japan officially surrendered to China in a ceremony.

Zhijiang was the location of the last battle between the Chinese army and Japanese troops.

Japan officially signed a memorandum of surrender to China on August 21st of 1945, a week after its surrender to the allies.

Japanese Major General Takeo Imai had led a delegation to Zhijiang for the surrender.

It was a lengthy process, and took two days. After that, Japan's surrender was accepted nationwide by Chinese troops.
