June 21: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China
On June 20, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 26 new cases of confirmed infections (1 imported case in Fujian province; 25 indigenous cases, 22 in Beijing municipality and 3 in Hebei province), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all are indigenous cases in Beijing), and no deaths. 3 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 397 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.
As of 24:00 on June 20, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,869 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,787 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 82 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 20, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,378 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 78,413 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 331 confirmed cases (including 15 cases in serious condition) and 13 suspected cases. 756,965 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,339 were still under medical observation.
On June 20, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 6 new asymptomatic cases (including 2 imported cases). 1 asymptomatic case (an imported case) was freed from medical observation and 2 became confirmed cases (both are indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on June 20, 111 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 58 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 20, 1,619 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,128 in Hong Kong (4 had died and 1,077 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 446 in Taiwan (7 had died and 434 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
