Dear Mr. Sulzberger:
In name of the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center of New York University whose Chair I will occupy until December 2005, I invite you to join us on Monday, the 26th of September, to participate in an event I am organizing. The panel concerns "Spain, Latin America, the United States and the Media". Participating on this panel as well are: Jesús de Polanco (President of the Prisa Group, Spain); Juan Luís Cebrián (General Councilor of the Prisa Group, Spain); Alejandro Junco (President of Grupo Reforma in México); Carmen Cafarell (Director General of RTVE-Spanish Televisión), and Jim Walton (President of CNN). This event is the first of a series I am coordinating titled "Spain Today". Please find attached a copy of the program.
I believe this will prove to be an excellent occasion for the university community and for the New York hispanic community to discover and share various points of view concerning the evolution of the communications media in a globalized society in which the United States plays such an important role.
I thank you in advance and I very much hope you can find the time to participate.
Fdo: BALTASAR GARZON REAL
MAGISTRATE-JUDGE
King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center
