Covid-19: 239 deaths, 15,271 cases recorded in 24 hours
Two hundred and thirty-nine people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 20,255 and the death rate stands at 1.65 percent.
At least 15,271 new infections were reported during this period, taking the overall number of infections to 12,26,253 added the release.
The current positivity rate is 29.21 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16 percent.
A total of 52,282 samples were tested across the country during the period.
At least 14,336 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 10,50,220 and the recovery rate at 85.64 percent.
Among the 239 deceased, 123 were men and 116 were women.
Of them, one was between 0-10 years old, three were within 11-20, 14 were between 21-30, 15 between 31-40, 26 between 41-50, 57 between 51-60, 65 between 61-70, 43 within 71-80, 14 were between 81-90, one between 91-100 years old, added the release.
