International experts have noted an unprecedented openness of the procedure of unsealing the flight recorder of the Su-24M bomber that was brought down by the Turkish Air Force in the skies over Syria on November 24," a spokesperson for the CIS Interstate Aviation Committee said.

"As regards the participation in the procedure of unsealing the flight recorder of the Su-24M bomber that was brought down on November 24, the top executives of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI) who have taken on the role of independent international experts point out fair organization of the procedure, the high qualification of specialists, and unprecedented openness shown by staff members of the International Aviation Committee and the Russian Defence Ministry," the spokesperson said.

"The experts confirmed the objective and impartial character of the works and praised the efforts undertaken by the committee as an independent international organization boasting a unique technological arsenal and experienced specialists who are capable of investigating air accidents and incidents," he said.

Earlier in the day, Committee Chairperson Tatiana Anodina had a meeting ISASI President Frank del Gandio and Vice President Ronald Schleede.

The sides discussed the opportunities for cooperation, which they established more than twenty years ago.

"They stressed the significance of international collaboration in the sphere of flight safety and confirmed their plans to continue and expand cooperation," the spokesperson said.

The flight recorder of the Su-24M bomber, which an F-16 fighter jet of the Turkish Air Force downed over northern Syria on November 24, was unsealed on Friday in the presence of foreign experts. The procedure took about an hour.

The memory module of the recorder turned out to be damaged.
