Constructor: debris of Russian spacecraft failing to dock with ISS won't reach Earth

The debris of the Progress M-27M cargo spacecraft, which failed to dock with the International Space Station, will not reach Earth, Vladimir Solovyov, the first deputy general constructor of the Energia space corporation, said on Wednesday.

Solovyov said that the trajectory of the spacecraft's fall can be calculated some days before its dumping.

A source in the space rocket industry earlier told TASS that controlled deorbiting of the cargo spacecraft is impossible.

"Specialists have agreed that Progress is hopeless. Its controlled deorbiting is impossible," the source said.
